Tourism that welcomesevery traveller.
Accessible Tour Lab gives Belgian tourism SMEs and non-profits, guides and destinations the tools, support and community they need to make accessibility an everyday practice.
A concrete model for inclusive tourism.
Accessible Tour Lab combines a self-assessment tool with personalised support for tour guides, museums and any tourism SME active in Belgium. Accessibility thus becomes a reality that small teams can implement easily and independently.
The project is developed by Destination in partnership with Once in Brussels, as part of the INSPIRES – Resilient Tourism programme.

A PRACTICAL TOOL
We are developing a practical, intuitive online self-assessment tool. Structured around 7 areas, it will make it possible to analyse each accessibility criterion clearly and methodically. In just a few minutes, users can assess their visitor experience, identify the strengths of their activity and spot areas for improvement. Quick and simple to use, this tool is a concrete first step towards better accessibility.

When the tourism and cultural world optimises accessibility, it opens up to a vast, loyal audience and improves the experience of older travellers, families, neurodivergent visitors, and indeed all travellers.
